Keith D. Schoen, BVMS
Dr. Schoen was raised in Staten Island, NY. He majored in Animal Sciences at Cornell University and then attended the University of Glasgow’s School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland where he graduated in 2007. Dr. Schoen furthered his training with a general internship in medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey, followed by a specialized surgical internship at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists. He worked as a general practitioner in Rhode Island before leaving to start Hill Harbour Veterinary Center in 2012. Dr. Schoen currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association, and enjoys all aspects of general practice, dentistry and orthopedic soft-tissue surgery.
While not working, Dr. Schoen enjoys hiking, biking, sailing, and spending time with his wife, Adriane, and three sons Benjamin, Jonathan, and Andrew.
Andrea Packard, DVM
Dr. Packard received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Rhode Island. She then graduated with her doctorate from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. While studying at Tufts, Dr. Packard devoted summers to working in the Oncology and Neurology departments of the Foster Hospital for Small Animals. Since graduation, Dr. Packard has worked in private practice in Rhode Island. She has continued to develop her professional skills by completing additional training in abdominal ultrasonography. Dr. Packard currently resides in Barrington with her husband William as well as their cats Wendall, Maizey, and Kitten and their ill-behaved puppy Butters.
Heather is a veterinary technician, originally from Coventry who has been caring for people’s most prized companions for the past fifteen years! While the majority of this time has been focused on preventative care in the general practice setting, she is extremely well versed in emergency and intensive care having worked for the past ten years at an emergency and referral practice.
Heather’s motivation to constantly learn and enhance her knowledge exemplifies our core value of Education. In fact, she is currently studying for her certification examination in veterinary technology. Heather has a firm understanding that a pet is an integral part of one’s family, and her goal is to provide health and happiness to her patients while creating a wonderfully positive veterinary experience for their owners.
Heather’s family is jam-packed with her husband, Jim, daugher, Aria, and her cats: Coco, Snaggle Tooth, Mr. Fuzz, Road Kill, and Campbell as well as her pups: Bruin, Phoenix, and Sookie.
Kali started with Hill & Harbour Veterinary Center in August 2017. She originates from Coventry, RI and has been working as a small animal veterinary technician for over 12 years with a focus on Surgery. Kali has three cats of her own named Ricky, Obie, and Julienne and two dogs named Trina and Rex. She enjoys the outdoors and many summer activities.
Jenna is a veterinary technician who grew up in Warwick. She earned a degree in Animal Science from the University of Rhode Island but spent her final semester abroad at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia where she lived for almost a decade.
Jenna is a dedicated learner and loves to teach herself new things. After graduating, she spent three years at a veterinary hospital in northern Sydney, where she became the head technician and developed a passion for surgery. She went on to become the surgical tech for a mobile orthopaedic specialist surgeon, performing surgeries all over the city, sometimes even on native Australian wildlife! A lot of this time was spent working closely with an emergency hospital where she also picked up intensive care skills and developed lasting relationships with the emergency team.
Recently, Jenna has left the city life and relocated back to Rhode Island with her husband Matt and their cat Atlas.
Tara joined Hill & Harbour Veterinary Center in 2017. She has been working in veterinary and client care for the past 7 years. Prior to that, she was involved in a variety of animal care settings which included caring for marine mammals, reptiles, parrots, and penguins. She believes pets are family, and customer care is of the utmost importance. She enjoys building lasting relationships with our patients and their human companions.
Tara lives in Charlestown with her husband, son, and two beautiful kitties Denali and Ridge.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Sarah is a veterinary technician who is originally from Coventry. In 2010, she moved to New Brunswick, Canada, where she attended Oulton College for veterinary technology. She has a passion for patient care and is interested in studying animal behavior more in depth in the future. Sarah is also a certified veterinary technician (CVT) through the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association.
Sarah has two cats that are rescue animals. She is also a part of Little Falls Farm in Greene, where she helps raise and show sheep.
Jillian joined Hill & Harbour Veterinary Center in February 2018. She has a passion for patient and client care and has worked as a small animal veterinary technician for over 9 years. Jillian grew up and resides in Cumberland, RI with her boyfriend, baby girl, and their two Pit Bulls, Nash and Thea. She enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities, and Boston sports (primarily the New England Patriots).
Client Service Representative
Shante joined Hill and Harbour Veterinary Center in 2017. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2004, as both a client service representative and as a technician.
Shante is originally from Boston, but now resides in Coventry with her husband, son, new baby girl, and 2 pugs, Gunther and Vanessa Huxtable.
Adriane has been working at Hill & Harbour Veterinary Center since it opened in 2013, but welcomed her “official” role as Practice Manager in 2017. Adriane oversees the day-to-day operations of the practice and enjoys working with such a wonderful group of people who make her job easy! A graduate of Cornell University, Adriane began her career planning civic events for the city of Glasgow, Scotland. After moving back to the United States, she continued to organize events and worked in development for several years at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC).
Originally from New Jersey, Adriane moved to Rhode Island in 2008 and loves all the opportunities the State has to offer. While not working, Adriane enjoys spending time with her husband and three energetic boys and volunteering at her children’s school and other community organizations dear to her heart. Her hobbies include swimming, boating, yoga, hiking, gardening, DIY projects, and reading.
